The Yeshiva faculty and administration, composed of experienced rabbis, professors, and Jewish educators, are available not only as teachers but also as mentors and friends. They strive to convey their personal passion for Torah study and Jewish living. They open their homes to students for Shabbat and holiday meals.



RABBI SHMUEL (RICHIE) LEWIS
Rabbi Shmuel (Richie) Lewis, Rosh HaYeshiva, received his doctorate in Rabbinic Thought, summa cum laude, from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Before coming to the yeshiva he was a Senior Lecturer in Talmud at the Schechter Institute for Jewish Studies, where he received his rabbinic ordination. He has been a research fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute where he also served as a lecturer in Talmud and director of the beit midrash program. Reb Shmuel, as he is called in the yeshiva, teaches Talmud and Halakha, as well as several classes on a variety of
topics and a weekly sicha to the entire yeshiva.




RABBI PESACH SCHINDLER
Rosh Yeshiva, received rabbinic ordination from Rav Elimelech Bar-Shaul, Chief Rabbi of Rechovot, and a Ph.D. in Jewish History and Philosophy from New York University. He is Assistant Professor of Talmud and Rabbinic Studies in the Rothberg International School at the Hebrew University. He served as the director of the United Synagogue’s Fuchsberg Center for Conservative Judaism in Jerusalem for twenty-five years and has been teaching his “A Page of Talmud” at the Fuchsburg Center’s Oded Program since 1973. He teaches Philosophy and Hasidut.




RABBI JOEL ROTH
,Rosh Yeshiva, is the Louis Finkelstein Professor of Talmud and Jewish Law at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. He is the former Dean of the Rabbinical School at JTS and the former Chair of the Rabbinical Assembly’s Committee on Jewish Law and Standards. He teaches a class in Halacha in the Summer Program and gives shiurim during his frequent visits to Israel during the year.




RABBI JAMES M. LEBEAU
Director of the Fuchsberg Center for Conservative Judaism. He received his Doctor of Divinity (honoris causa) and Rabbinic Ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary. He teaches Conservative Judaism and Israel Society.




RABBI DANIEL C. GOLDFARB
Yeshiva Director, is a graduate of Harvard College, Columbia Law School and received his M.H.L. and Rabbinic Ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary. He worked, for 25 years, as an attorney for Israel’s Ministries of Justice and Finance and in private practice in Jerusalem before joining the Yeshiva in July 2000. He teaches Tefilla/Siddur.

RABBI GAIL DIAMOND
is the Assistant Director of the Yeshiva. She received her M.H.L. and Rabbinic Ordination from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and served for seven years as a congregational rabbi before making aliyah in 2001. She teaches Psalms.

RABBI EDWARD ROMM
Director of Education and the Center on Campus program of the Fuchsberg Center for Conservative Judaism. He received his M.A., Doctor of Divinity (honoris causa) and Rabbinic Ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary. He serves as Registrar of the Yeshiva and coordinates the Parshat Hashavua series.

RABBI MORDECHAI (MITCHELL) SILVERSTEIN
Received Rabbinic Ordination from both the Jewish Theological Seminary of America and Yeshiva University. He is a Ph.D. candidate in Talmud at the Hebrew University. He teaches Talmud, Midrash and Advanced Midrash.




DR. JOSHUA KULP
was one of the founders of the Yeshiva. He studied at the University of Judaism and received his doctorate in Talmud from Bar-Ilan University. In addition, he teaches Talmud and Halakhah at the Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies and coordinates the Mishnah Yomit program for the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. He teaches Mishna and Talmud.




ESTHER ISRAEL-VLEESCHOUWER
teaches the first level Talmud class and has taught Tanach courses at the Yeshiva. She has studied in Women’s Yeshivot in Jerusalem and at the Hebrew University, and is currently working on a Master’s in Bible at the Hebrew University. She holds a B.Ed and a teaching Degree in Open/Democratic Education, as well as one in Bible and Torah She B’al Peh from Michlelet Bruria.




DR. SHAIYA ROTHBERG
received his doctorate in Jewish Thought from Hebrew University and his B.A. in Jewish Philosophy and Talmud from Bar Ilan University. Shaiya has also learned in the Conservative Yeshiva Kollel since it began (seven years so far), and earlier on at Machon Meir, Machon Pardes, Hamachon Hagavoah Letorah (Bar-Ilan's yeshiva) and Machon Hartman. VERED HOLLANDER-GOLDFARB
received her MA in Judaic Studies and Tanach from the Bernard Revel Graduate School of Yeshiva University. She has also studied at Bar-Ilan University and the Jewish Theological Seminary. Before making Aliyah, Ms. HOLLANDER-GOLDFARB taught at Ramaz School and Stern College in NY. She teaches Advanced Tanach.




RABBI DR. HAVIVA NER-DAVID
received private orthodox rabbinic ordination and earned her doctorate from Bar Ilan University, writing on the topic of nidah. She is the author of the book Life on the Fringes: A Feminist Journey Towards Traditional Rabbinic Ordination and is currently completing a new book on her spiritual journey through the three women’s mitzvot. Haviva is also the founding director of Kol Kallah V'Kol Hattan: The Center for Modern Jewish Marriage and is an active, long-time board member of Women of the Wall. She teaches Women and Halacha.




RABBI JOEL LEVY
learns in the yeshiva kollel and teaches Practical Halacha. He studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge University, was chair of the Programme at Limmud conference and is an ex-director of NOAM. He has learned in various institutions and yeshivot in and around Jerusalem and received rabbinical ordination from Rabbi David Hartman in 2000. Joel also teaches in the Jewish Studies Faculty of the Machon L’Madrichei Chul and for Ta Shma. He has been the part-time rabbi of Kol Nefesh Masorti Synagogue, Britain’s only fully egalitarian traditional shul, since 2001.




RABBI ADAM FRANK
received rabbinic ordination from the Conservative Movement’s Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies at the University of Judaism in Los Angeles, where he also earned an MA in Jewish Studies. He is spiritual leader of Congregation Moreshet Yisrael in Jerusalem and also teaches at the Pardes Institute for Jewish Studies in Jerusalem.




RABBI SHLOMO ZACHAROW
received his MA and Rabbinic ordination from the Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem. Before joining the Conservative Yeshiva, he served as the Rabbi of Congregation Shevet Achim in Gilo. He now teaches Biblical Hebrew and Halakhah and learns in the yeshiva's kollel. Rabbi
Zacharow is certified as a mesadder gittin (specialist in Jewish Family Law).In addition, he runs the Shabbat afternoon Minha/Seudah Shlishit/Shiur and the daily minyan at Congregation Moreshet Israel.




MATT PLEN
grew up in London before making aliyah to Jerusalem in 1998. Matt holds an MA in Jewish Studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary and is currently pursuing doctoral studies at the Hebrew University, where his thesis topic is Radical Education and Israeli Ideologies of Social Justice. As well as teaching at the Yeshiva, Matt teaches history at the Masorti High School and works in informal education.




MS. NITZA SHALITIN
,the Yeshiva’s ulpan director, has taught Hebrew to overseas students at the Hebrew University One Year Program, the Melton Educators Program and Mechina program, and at Hebrew Union College. She teaches Hebrew and coordinates the Yeshiva’s summer ulpan programs.




MEIRA STERN-GLICK
Meira has many years of experience in teaching Hebrew as a second language in Ulpanim and Hebrew classes at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and in online teaching. Meira received her bachelors degree summa cum laude from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in Arabic language and literature, and studied MA studies in Hebrew Language at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
She holds teachers certificates for primary and high school instruction.
