Admissions Requirements
Self-motivation and a desire to learn are the most important requirements
for studying at the CY. Students are asked to fill out an application
form including an essay. Two letters of recommendation are required.
Language
English is the basic language of instruction though some high level courses
may be taught in Hebrew. Hebrew is important since it is the language
of most of the traditional texts. Therefore, students should attain at
least level "Bet" Hebrew skills, according to the Israeli ulpan
rating system. For students below this level, we recommend ulpan study
prior to the start of the school year. We will be happy to aid you in
choosing an appropriate ulpan, either at the CY or elsewhere.

Please submit your application as soon as possible. Applications are reviewed
on a rolling basis. Students who apply before April 30 will receive priority.

2. A $50.00 application fee. Make checks payable to The United Synagogue
of America (Israel)
3. A recent photograph
Tuition for the 2008
- 2009 Year Program
Full time students:
US$ 7,000 tuition
US$ 250 student activities fee
Individual Classes:
Talmud = $4,000
Bible = $1,300
Per afternoon class = $700
Per evening class = $500
Upon acceptance, students are asked to send a non-refundable $200.00 deposit
to reserve a space in the CY, which will be credited towards tuition.
