The Rabbi Myron S. Geller United Synagogue Fuchsberg Center Gemilut Hesed Project
“Everyone is in need of loving- kindness” (Bereshit Rabba 60:2)
The United Synagogue Fuchsberg Center Gemilut Hesed Project connects United Synagogue members visiting Israel with a choice of meaningful volunteer opportunities based on individual interests and time availability. The projects include assisting seniors, serving meals in soup kitchens, assisting physically handicapped youth and adults, preparing and delivering care packages to soldiers, helping developmentally disabled adults, lending a hand at the coalition for Israel’s missing soldiers, and much more.
As part of the Gemilut Hesed Project, the Fuchsberg Jerusalem Center collects supplies for distribution to various social service agencies in Israel. The staff at the Center can arrange for visitors to deliver the supplies to these agencies, to meet the dedicated people involved, and to learn about their work. Visitors who are pressed for time can simply bring the supplies directly to the Center, and participants in Center programs will be happy to deliver them.
The following items are needed for distribution:
