Project "Neshama"

Michal Tzur, Director

Neshama 9th graders

Solomon Schechter Day School of Essex and Union is getting ready for the New Year, by sending the 9th grade for a week to Israel. The students will be here on mid September and will travel the north and south of Israel. They will spend a lot of time in the Fuchsberg Center, where they will meet with Nativ’ers and other graduates of the school that are spending a gap year in Israel. The highlight of their visit should be a Mifgash with their peers in the Merchavim HS, as part of the 4 years partnership model the schools are having.

The goals of this program, other than having a meaningful bonding experience for the class of 2012, are to inspire them and have them approach their Jewish and Israel studies in HS in a more personal and effective way. It is also a mini-introduction to the closing experience of HS – “Neshama” program.

Tai, Ariel and Nurit, their Madrichim have worked with us before as USY Pilgrimage Israeli Staff and we are more than happy to work with them again.
