USY
David Keren, Israel director

Today, USY Israel is responsible for facilitating various youth programs including: USY Pilgrimage, Nativ, Neshama, and various Jewish Day School trips to Israel.

Listen as David Keren explains about USY Israel Programs.

Below is an article about USY Pilgrimage

USY Israel Pilgrimage 2008 was an incredible summer! With 353 USYers and 52 staff members from across North America and Israel, ten different groups traveled in Poland, Spain, and Eastern Europe, and all over Israel. They went north, where they hiked in the Golan and the Galil, swam in the Kinneret, visited a Druze village, and rode donkeys in Kfar Kedem. They traveled south and slept outside in the Negev, rode camels, and danced on a disco boat on the Red Sea. In Tel Aviv they learned about the founding of the State of Israel and enjoyed the Mediterranean coast line. And of course, at their home in the Fuchsberg Center in Jerusalem, our enthusiastic, spirited teenagers went back in time as they uncovered artifacts from the Second Temple period, walked through Hezekiah's tunnel in the City of David, and tried to understand Jerusalem's more recent history dating back to 1948 and 1967. Kayitz (summer) 2008 would not have been complete without Ha-Event, a fun afternoon in which all of our groups join together in the Ben Shemen Forest to compete in low-ropes activities with cheers, songs, and lots of face paint! Once again USY has instilled in Conservative Jewish teens a love of Shabbat, a love of song, and a love of Israel. We know this is a summer they will never forget.
