Tarbut - Jerusalem Culture
Anat Infeld-Goodman, Director of Cultural Activities

This year the Tarbut Program of the Fuchsberg Jerusalem Centre hosted a wide range of cultural events. From lectures to artistic workshops; music concerts to an interfaith forum, it has been a packed year.

T he Fuchsberg Centre has opened its doors to a diverse cross-section of Israeli society. Young families were attracted by the events around the Chagim, students came to the groundbreaking seminar on “Yotzei BeSheala” (questiong Judaism from a religious perspective) and older couples signed up for the wine tasting course during Adar. Our interfaith panel brought Jews, Christians and Muslims together for a meaningful and frank dialogue.

A series of evenings events was dedicated to different cultures in Israel. French, Ethiopian and Latin American Jewry came to discuss identity issues.

The series concluded with a vibrant Latin American evening including a lecture by Professor Margalit Bejerano of the Hebrew University, "empanadas" and “Bilongo” - a three-piece South American band who punctuated their lively music with Jewish anecdotes. 80 people danced, ate and enjoyed a little piece of Latin America in Jerusalem!
