The Arba Kanfot Center on Campus program

Rabbi Ed Romm, Director of Education
& Campus programs

The Spring semester has been hopping with activities.

The Center On Campus organized a Friday Night Dinner and program in Jerusalem for overseas students.Included were students from Haifa and Tel Aviv in addition to Jerusalem.

A Purim Party for overseas and Israeli students organized by the Fuchsberg Jerusalem Center together with the Rothberg International School of the Hebrew University, Beit Hillel and Marom took place at the social hall of Ramot Zion Masorti Synagogue, down the street from the university dorms. The number of Israelis and overseas students was more or less even creating a great dynamic. We had a D.J , entertainers, and a costume contest. Over 300 students participated.

The flow of students coming from campus to the party prompted one of our "madrichim" to observe "this looks like the exodus of the Jews from Egypt" (It sounds better in Hebrew").

A Pre-Pesach Shabbaton was held at Kibbutz Hannaton in the Galil. The discussion groups were facilitated by JTS and Ziegler rabbinical students. Students organized and led the T'fillot. On the way up to Hannaton we visited the Druz community of Dalyat Al Carmel for a cross cultural experience.

The Learning Community Hevruta continues to meet on Wednesday evenings at Beit Hillel on the Mt. Scopus Campus of the Hebrew University where under graduate students are matched with JTS and Ziegler rabbinical students exploring Jewish texts together.

The Center on Campus is an affiliate of KOACH College Outreach and is greatful for it's support as well as USY'S Tikun Olam Fund and the Jewish Agency For Israel.
