Summer Activities 2009
at the United Synagogue
Fuchsberg Jerusalem Center

This summer the Fuchsberg Center offered a variety of activities for USCJ visitors, participants of the Conservative Yeshiva and Project Oded and the local Jerusalem community.

 

An Open House Wine & Cheese reception
for USCJ members visiting Israel took place
in the Temple Zion Israelite Center Theater.

 

An Open House BBQ
For visiting and local Conservative rabbis
took place in the Temple Zion Israelite Center Theater.

 

A Blood Drive
for Magen David Adom
takes place twice a year at the Fuchsberg Center
in the Wohl Lecture Hall

 

A Walking Tour
of the "back yard" of the Fuchsberg Center
including the neighborhoods of Rehavia and Talbieh:
learning the fascinating history that surrounds us.

Tisha B'Av Services at the 'Kotel Masorti"
with Conservative Yeshiva Students and
other Fuchsberg program participants


 

A trip to the Temple Mount Sifting Site
in Emek Zurim

including a hands on experience.
Debris that has been removed from the Temple Mount is sorted
at this site by volunteers from around the world.
Our group found artifacts from the Second Temple and even earlier!

 

 



 

A trip to Herodian
Herod built a lavish and heavily fortified palace south of Jerusalem.
Construction was started in 23 BCE and completed three years later.
